The wiretap upgrade is pretty much entirely outclassed by the security channel being the only one worth spying on and anyone familiar enough to want to spy on sec knowing where the spare headset crate (that nobody cares to protect) is or taking one from the cloning piles.

This behavior was previously in the game, and can be gotten again as a food buff by eating a number of farty foods, like beans and rice, etc.
