Big agree, especially since iirc the extra text some accents and similar effects give can cause you to still say something, even if you send an empty message.

If i remember correctly (which i very well may not be), PDA messages also lack a cancel button, and also can run into weird blank message problems

Edit: just had a round with a very generous genetics, Telepathy power is also missing a cancel button when it prompts you for a message.
