I think this is a bug with the latest window update, whenever you use normal glass to make 1 panel ( Directional) it sets it out as a full block, yet it can still be rotated.. kinda?

The way it is right now, you can build a directional window, but if you try to pull it, it can turn into a bigger window.

Was trying to make a room earlier, ended up experimenting with this window nonsense.

Left clicking on a grille with glass makes a full window
Using the glass to make a full window works normal
Using the glass to make a directional window creates a directional window, but if pulled it becomes a full window and wont revert.
