Major Bomb-created holes leading to default landing site

After blowing a few holes in the seafloor with a pipebomb, I lowered a sea ladder into one of the holes and found myself at the default landing site for regular deep holes, instead of the corresponding location in the Trench. Then, I dove a minisub into it and got the same result. I know the hole didn't just coincidentally line up with the regular site; one of the coordinates near the hole was 228, 162, yet the hole lead to 31,92.
