The Radiation Resistance mutation does not fully protect from radiation- I had that mutation, got exposed to radiation, and yet somehow still mutated. I do not know if you still take damage, though.

Looking at the stats tab, radiation resistance only gives you 50% protection from radiation. May or may not be a feature.

It's certainly a behavior change since rad resistance used to make you completely immune.
