Minor Not possible to apply more thermite beyond initial amount

Last night I was trying to burn down a wall with some thermite in a beaker. Instead of dumping the whole beaker on the wall I wanted to melt I instead applied 10 units. After realizing that 10 units of thermite isn't sufficient I tried to apply more, however it was impossible and the amount applied to the wall would stay at 10 regardless of what I did. This happened regardless of what the initial amount I dumped on the wall was, it was always impossible to apply more once there was already thermite on the wall. The problem also applies to floor tiles as well.
