What the actual fuck?
In this specific case (I was asking in discord if someone knew if there was SOME threshhold where it was reliable and another fella was politely insistent that it couldn't kill you if you had 100%+ stability) I did have the normal SBM latently. I activated it, did genetics til I got a synchronizer chromosome, had the other geneticist store my SBM (which removed the latent gene from me, as well) and then spliced in the chromosome and put it in myself. This put my down to 95% stability.
I then got myself Diminished Optic Nerve (the one you wear glasses for, which I wore) to put myself back to 100%, and had the other geneticist confirm I did in fact have 100% stability. I then used it eh.... 5, 6 times? And died with no chance of revival cuz yer a skeleton with no brain.
I did this to prove my point definitely, but I KNEW it was gonna happen because I've died many times before with way higher than 100% stability. I like to give myself blindness/deafness when they're not latent genes cuz it's "free" stability since I can just wear a visor and auditory headset.
It's a decent amount of work to get Synchronized SBM, fighting against the RNG to get a synchro chromosome. It's not IMPOSSIBLE but it does take work. It's also a 100 second cooldown. This power should not be murdering you with no chance of ressurection when you put THIS MUCH WORK into getting it.
Unrelated, robust genetics trait doesn't seem to work but I need to test it a few more times before I put it in bugs forum.
EDIT: I was honestly expecting the replies to OVERWHELMINGLY be of the flavour "hahaha quit whining", thanks for pleasantly surprising me guys.
