Prone position and crawling
#1
So, as of right now, there is a standing position and a lying down position. One allows you to move and use hold/items, while the other doesn't but allows you to pass under certain tiles and allows certain projectiles to go over you. You can take advantage of a brief window of time when transitioning between lying down to standing up where you can move and use items normally.

I propose, a third option that combines the two: Prone position

When on the ground, hitting resist should have you roll from lying on your back (The current ground position) into rolling onto your stomach, where you can now move across the ground by crawling.

While crawling...

  1. You move at a reduced rate
  2. Projectiles pass over you unless specifically aimed
  3. You can hold and use items, with a small 3 second delay before each use
  4. You can fit under certain tiles like door flaps
  5. You can crawl past standing people
  6. You can pull people onto the floor with you with a grab move
  7. Resist to roll back onto your backĀ
Choosing rest when standing will default you to the prone lying down position, but stuns/slips/shoves and anything else that knocks you to the ground will still default you onto your back. By default you'll return to your feet, but pressing resist to go prone lets you recover into that position a little faster, where you can return to standing when you choose

This all sounds nice but idk how useful it'd really be. I've only ever really had to crawl (read: rest-stand buffer movement) to get out of disposals, and since movement speed would be reduced when prone it'd make fighting the conveyor a hassle so people would just use the buffer movement anyways

I figure, there could be reasons to want to hit the ground and crawl, such as avoiding gunfire or environmental hazards like dangerous smoke, or to give yourself more stability and avoid slipping ice or space lube.

Maybe new ways to get about the station like crawling through pipes
