So right now control units are these scary eldritch mechanism abominations to majority of the players, mostly because writing code for it requires you to use a notepad or something.
I suggest that mechanic pda cartridge has a new ROM coding file which would let you write your code in readable assembly, tell you about syntax issues, have a handy opcode handbook and have output for the actual rom code!
I don't imagine this would be that difficult to code as it's just a rather simple parser
Oh yeah they will stay eldritch but at the very least people who know what they're doing will have a handy tool to do it
