An animal-handling pole. A long stick with a leash at the end for transporting dangerous creatures. Just snap the leash end around the spacebear's neck and you'll be able to drag them around out of reach of those lil' maulers, doing it's best to keep the critter two tiles away from you at all times. Heaven help you if you drop it, though. Also doesn't work on people, somehow.

Chem dispensers should take power to synthesize reagents. They draw power from an internal power cell, which is charged from the APC of the room they're in (No APC? No charging.) Switching out the cell is also possible, giving another use for artifact cells (though, to be honest, this will just end with science hoarding artcells).

How come we don’t have weed edibles that just dump a shitload of THC into your system? Like add weed to different recipes and you get the food product with THC reagents in them.

Yes and no to this.

Time should be a factor in cooking but it should be more like, an item moves between different cook states over time, with heat having an effect on how quickly that occurs with some other effects. You should also be able to interrupt the process or otherwise modify it at any point

So you can do things like take a steak and cook it to different degrees of doneness, or give it some high heat for a short duration to give it a sear. Someone wants their steak cooked more, toss it back on to keep cooking it.

Make a soup, but have the heat set too high and it boils over, making a mess. Or you don't stir it and you end up scalding the bottom.

Cooking then becomes more about paying attention to the cooking process and multitasking.
