How come AI's lost VOX?

A bad egg blew their chance to play with a fun toy. By and large the vox enabled AI I've seen have been funny and considerate in using it.

Of course it gets spammed. When it's added for literally one round it is going to be. It's new to player control.

In a week it will calm down. You can't test it in such a short time frame.

I just got off a round that i had vox in. It was good, it had a good time out, some of the more silly words were censored to prevent spamming and there was a fair character limit in place.

I'm completely behind letting AI vox be turned on and off by admins.

AI controlled VOX should still have an announcement message to go with it, to prevent confusion between admins and AIs.

Unless that's already been added and I've failed to notice.

There is a global announcement when the AI gets VOX access.

I like the current off-by-default setup and most AIs I've seen are either flabbergasted by the controls and make one or two simple announcements, or they do great and wonderful things with it. I think I've seen one AI spam stupid shit with it and then I just turned its vox off again.

Someone got real crabby about the word filter, though.

Just a quicky, you could separate the admin Vox from the AI Vox by having the ai's Vox have an added BING BONG at the start, like at an airport before the speaker starts talking.

I've had the opportunity of playing with the VOX as an AI several times now and I must say that it's indeed a whole lot of fun.


However, I do feel that there are a tad too many filtered words and I'd love to be able to actually scream over VOX sometimes.


It would perhaps be cool if a bunch more words/sounds were uncensored just to see how it would go with the exception of usernames and "gay" I guess. Maybe ion laws could also automatically unlock all of the filtered words?


Of course, if spam occurs then it's just a matter of having an admin take away the VOX from the AI.

I kinda think making Vox another space journey thing might be fun. Like you need to have a group of willing crewmen and a cyborg willing to go grab the vox module and install it. Maybe with treasure so the crew has ample reason to join the AI's quest for a voice. Not every round will have a group of people risking death in telescience or the asteroid belt and even if it did you could ramp up the difficulty to make it less worth it for the crew, like surround vox with wasps or yetis.
