And why should the staff assistant or the cyborg get a better treatment than the clown, simply because they're not clowns?
I know that the line between permissible shenanigans and being a douchenozzle is very thin and very blurry in these instancez, but quite a few players don't even seem to acknowledge the line at all. Hell, someone even explicitly told me that being a clown means getting a free pass for griefing, which is sure as hell not true and is, in fact, specifically stated as not true in the wiki. I really like the job of the clown and I want to try it out more whenever possible, but if unwarranted assault, theft, and murder is what I consistently find, I'll be too intimidated to dare go another round. That's the scenario I foresee happening, and while there are definitely souls braver than I, this will lead to clowns becoming a rapidly dying race.
And a space station without a clown is a sad space station.

Fear?
Fear?
Buddy, if there's fear in those overgrown shorts of yours, you oughta hang 'em up and go home. It takes some serious gumption to be a clown and live.

Clown has a hard life and surviving the perils of the station while constantly slipping and knocking yourself out means you have become a true clown. While I don't agree with being murdered just for being a clown I do agree that the station has the right to pick on the clown.(I also don't agree with them stealing the clown's clothes but that's SS13 life) Overcome the station and become the most robust clown you can be, if you can't handle the clown life you might as well give up on that red nose and squeaky shoes.

Moon shoes, flippers, and cowboy boots are all legit clown wear. Failing that, there's always the galoshes.
If the HOS complains about you not wearing your shoes just fart on him.

Oddball Wrote:in ye olde days clown was the most robust job. if you keep getting griefed you are not ready to put on the maske I wasn't around during those times but I can certainly say that the response to the clown choking a man while removing their backpack to retrieve his stolen mask isn't a pleasant one, and security is never happy when a clown stuns and strips the CE so they can get their outfit back. And the lynch mobs keep forming when you flashbang spam the barman for taking your shoes. Not to mention how angry sec gets when you steal all their shit for revenge purposes.
Like, I get it. The clown has to be able to take the frequent beatings and such, and also has to be able to deal with their own grief related problems, but quit encouraging clown grief by non-antags with this sort of shitty attitude about "oh just deal with it you're the clown" bullshit. Seriously, it's not fun. A lot of people play clown for reasons that aren't "I want a justifiable reason to hunt down and fuck up some random asshole for taking my stuff when I tripped and fell."

Maybe the whole thing with the clown falling on its face every 10 steps should be removed.

Solution: Don't wear the clown shoes. Those are what cause that. Removing that from the clown shoes removes some of the Comedy(!!!) of being a Clown.
Not a lot of people will care too much if your excuse for not wearing them is that you don't want to be looted when you trip and bash your skull against the floor. Just get normal shoes, which are found a stone's throw away from where the Clown spawns.

Don't blame anyone if you get beaten more often for not having the shoes on because that means you took the dark side of the clown way and failed all the great clowns that ever were, you horrible excuse for a funnyman.

I don't. I gauge my success as a clown based on how hard people try to kill me (And how often I hear THAT FUCKING CLOWN over the radio.)
