I actually stopped playing for 3 months after that, and now have switched 'Security Guard' to 'Not wanted' in the job selection.
The 'mall-cops'-idea is giving me pause to reconsider that choice, but without some sort of other incentive, fun-wise or otherwise, I can't be bothered. Not while there are zones to explore and loafers to build.
