Well, if the can is shaken when thrown then it acts like a grenade that detonates on contact. You shake it once to arm it, then once you throw it again and it hits something, kaboom.
Easily avoided by only letting throwing get a can to the first stage of shaking, so throwing a shaken can does nothing.
