I get wanting to be prepared. I usually at least have a breath mask and O2 tank around.
But dude, 'it's okay when I do it, and I'll beat the shit out of anyone who does it to me' is kind of a terrible mindset. I mean, I'm aware that mining often gets raided for boots and space suits and that's an endemic hazard of late joining, but it's a friggin' RP server. At least try the following:
'Hi, SPACEPERSON! May I please have XYZ? Thanks!'
Seriously. Most of us are happy to share.
Also, as far as gloves go, I sometimes give them to peeps with cyberhearts because if you get shocked - it's bad news.
Edit: Also, the clown IS a silent hero and Atamus is right. And Ursula has some good points, too.
