Blob hearing is weird and I only really half understand it. As blob you only seem to hear things that are said within hearing distance of blob tiles and at the same time within view of your blob overmind. At the same time, you don't hear incoming radio, only what people directly say, so you're effectively deaf as a blob. I may have gotten the conditions needed for hearing wrong, but I have heard some things said as blob before.
