So I was thinking, the Emag is good but not at all subtle. Breaking into an area with an emag leaves a trail behind (which is the point). So I was thinking, what about some kind of mimic ID.
It starts identical to whatever ID you're currently wearing and you replace your current ID with it. Now whenever you walk into a door you don't have access to, the ID will automatically change to whatever the lowest rank you need to get into that area is. For example, if I'm a chef and I walk into a sec door, it'll change to Security Officer, but in the same logic walking into a maintenance door would make me a staff assistant.
Now the ID change isn't permanant, it'd last around 30 second to a minute, then change back to your default, and it wouldn't come with unlimited uses either, you'd get about 3-6 uses before it completely breaks and gives you a glitchy mess of a rank.
Now this is useful for traitors because it allows them access to areas they don't have access to without giving away they're using an emag, and if combined with the chameleon jumpsuit they could get anywhere they wanted.
The downside to it is that if you ever talk over the radio, the AI will notice something is up with your changing (and eventually glitchy) rank. It also doesn't have unlimited uses so you need to plan how to use it and be quick with it so you don't waste a use getting out of the area.
I think it'd be nice to have a few more subtle traitor items.
