It didn't end there, though. Revived by the dark power of Satan (or was it Santa?), EZRA SAUTER 2.0, now clothed in clown garb, arose to challenge the former Bat-Bloaf to a final challenge--
-- on the LAVA MOON.
So the Bat took up his cowl and rushed to the distant, burning moon to fight his enemy a final time. . and summarily tripped into the lava and burned to a skeleton. (The reason for this is unknown.)

Thus began the dark reign of Ezra Sorcer-clown.
Also then it ended because he choked on burning gas.
