explore maintenance a bit more. I haven't had a need to use maintenance since most of the main hallways are efficient enough for travel.

Most of the doors leading into it require department access, so maintenance is no longer the smart way to travel. It is, by some arcane conspiracy, just for doing maintenance (and spawning the odd artifact).
I love that exosuits and toolkits are no longer basic requirements and the new security booths will give Sec a decent chance to catch miscreants. Did you know there is a second ID-computer in the aft-Booth by the Pod bay?
