Self Biomass Manipulation Done Fucked Up

So, I'm researching shit in genetics, only injected myself with my own potentials and Jumpy. I scramble the monkey for the first time, and see the SBM gene. I mutate it, slap a stabilizer chromosome on it, and hit the injector button. But when I go and try to use it, my skin melts right the fuck off. Either I'm missing something, or this is a bug.
