sometimes, the hop wants to "fire" the engineers or whoever for being bad, or maybe he wants to give all staff assistants a 100 credit raise.
currently, to do that, he'd have to go down the list and individually pick out every relevant crewmember and every future relevant crewmember individually for pay adjustment.
my suggestion is this: allow the banking computer to set base values for every job type en masse, including future late joiners of that job type. this would also make it easier to institute space communism, which is a bonus
