Why was derringers nerfed?

I dunno. A derringer is either an assassination weapon in which case I think the low cost is too cheap for a guaranteed kill or an ace in the hole weapon, in which case it's probably fine.

Though, to be honest, a mind-slave implant isn't much more expensive and can certainly be used as an guaranteed kill if you tell them to jump into the gibber.
