Everybody likes cats, so why not have more? If cats are enough of a pest in space that people lock oodles of them in crates with no intention of unlocking them, why not add a bunch of feral cats in maintenance? The random cat names are pretty funny, and I'd like to see them more often.
Gameplay wise, I was thinking if you snuggled them enough and fed them, the cat could become your buddy, and make a huge hissyfit if they saw you getting absorbed in maint. or just being hurt in the future. I'd like to see a ultrahyperblastproccesingawesomeradicalturbonerd vigilante-type dumbo making friends with all the mangey felines on the station so they'd have a defence squad made entirely of the cute buggers, I think that would be fairly silly.
