The more sprites that exist of wood things the more likely a wood shop could happen (or at the very least a dialog menu to build things out of wood sheets)

Right, which is why I think wood sheets would work at the moment. Floor tiles and walls could be borrowed from the sauna, tables from the bar. Coffins take care of lockers/crates, and planks could act like metal rods and the barricades as grilles. That takes care of most of the basic things you can build with metal without any need for new sprites.
