Easily done by switching identities with somebody them gibbing them.

But surely gibs are not very good proof

They are for the local station rent-a-cops.

I once got away with murder by telling a sec officer that I found some traitor gear on my victim. (was traitor, so I just needed to report the body as something they shouldn't revive.)

He ran off with the new toys and left me be. I was a head surgeon and got away with murder just because I planted some syndicate gadgets. He even destroyed the corpse for me.
