New Plant Ideas (Poison Ivy!)
#1
This may not be needed, since Hydro's got a hell of a lot of generally unused stuff in it already (can you do anything but eat peanuts? you can't even roast or salt them or anything?), but I had a few ideas for plants today that I thought might be pretty neat if implemented, and could at least have some marginal use.

Sarsaparilla Root: Would probably work well enough as a weed or a regular grown plant, can be put in the keg or extractor to get root beer (I think root beer would be kinda neat to see in game, maybe you could even use it to give Vanilla an actual purpose in the game somehow). Maybe a mutant version can have root beer and vanilla both extracted from it, and is fermented into pre-vanilla'd root beer. This one's probably the least practical to implement, but it's just a thought.
(Side note, there needs to be a way to put Ice Creams into drinks to make floats)

Poison Ivy: May need to be a traitor item, but it'd also probably work well as a very rare weed, maybe one you have to find in space or in a tele location. Itching powder is already a reagent and affect-on-contact code already exists for ores/smeltings, so this should be an extremely easy thing to implement (relatively, anyway - it would still need a sprite and all that). Makes for a way more fun space weed than the Lasher Plant ever was, and it's not as harmful, either. Maybe a mutant Creeper?

Devil's Walking Stick: Probably a traitor item, these are sticks covered in thorns. Anyone not wearing gloves (or maybe you'd need special botanist gloves that would come with it) gets hurt if they try to pick it up, not unlike the Cthulu Staff, and it hurts like a bastard when it strikes you (Maybe police baton damage? Or would fire extinguisher damage be better? I don't know the comparisons anymore) and maybe bleeding damage. A growing sprite would probably be as simple as putting thorns on that stick you see when you plant grapes or meat plants.

I like these ideas because they're derived from real plants, but more fantastical plants would be great to see, too, like more alien artifact plants. I can't think of any of those right now though, so this is what I've got for the moment.
