It might make sense for that functionality to be removed (so they have separate inventories). Then there might actually be a use for copying schematics onto a floppy disk! You could scan a bunch of shit into the station's kit, then load all the blueprints into the RE fabricator, then copy them onto a disk and take them to another RE manufacturer / ruckingeur kit to scan in your dangerous items, without having to leave them all behind/reveal you've scanned the crusher.
The tech outpost is also a great place to learn and experiment with other shit, it has plenty of things to get you set up.
As for best moments, last night on #2 there was a big Solarium run going. I was the AI so I got to babysit Genetics and do other shit, and in the mean time:
- A black hole ate EVA and the station teleporter
- 90 minutes in, a class 70+ meteor shower approaches from the west. Much scrambling later, Genetics is mostly covered in shields, Telescience is as well, and meteors show up and wreck just about everything else west of Engineering. Meteor shields don't work outside of empty space, so the left half of TS got fucked up pretty bad and Genetics got poked full of holes (but nothing critical got damaged)
- The telepad disappeared. Let's just say that the "perm portal" lived up to its name. Some poor bastard got stranded on the Solarium with only a moon bee and an AI shell for company
- Another black hole swallows the middle of Research, staying only a few tiles out of range of Telescience
- The mainframe (and only the mainframe) in the Computer Core vanishes, probably hit by a rogue meteor. So much for rebuilding Telescience!
- Another class 70 meteor shower shows up, this time from the south, and demolishes Genetics and a bunch of other shit, somehow not crushing what little remained of Telescience and Luis Smith's attempts to get it running again (bonus: a gigantic meteor hurtling STRAIGHT AT THE AI HOLY FUCK)
Somehow despite all of this bullshit a happy ending occurred and the Solarium's bad ending was reached once again. It was pretty crazy. Since I had little to do after finding TK and a bunch of other fun shit I went and made popcorn, and somewhere around the second meteor shower I was a perfect representation of
.
