I've found about 50% of the crew will stop and talk with you if you strike up a conversation regardless of the subject.
For the other half I would say run next to a disposal unit, click the disposal unit to open up it's menu, then when the offender runs up to you drag and drop them into the trash and quickly flush it before they can get out (gotta be quick once they are in there).
If it's the same person for the millionth time or they are an obvious non-antagonist beating you to critical and beyond then by all means adminhelp it...you would be doing us all a service.
