That's a pretty good idea, here's a suggestion to make it better: have it be more subtle. As soon as someone contracts the virus, make it much, much more likely that their limbs will fall off. Like, whatever the current chance is from an explosion/bullet/punch, quadruple that fucker. Don't make it give you a message until about 5 minutes after you catch it, something minor like "Your arms hurt." And then, make it spread by contact with a severed limb.

Best part? You make it 8 telecrystals, so a traitor can also purchase two detomatix cartridges.

Slip a vial into some beakers of heal-on-touch chems, splash a few people with minor damage, blow their PDAs, and watch the fun as the station quickly goes to shit.

(Just imagine when, after a shitton of PDA bombs and everyone walking around carrying limbs, somebody screams "OH SHIT IT'S THE LIMB DISEASE" and everyone succumbs to bloodshed. )
