Either way it should block AI's eyes completely when you are cloaked, no conjunction. That would actually be a really useful buff, because it means the AI can't track you, and can't rat you out that you're jones in the bridge.

The cloaking device. Try using both a projector and a cloak at the same time and see if anything can see you.
