I just don't know, man, Chemistry is shitty enough already without everyone knowing how to make explosive hellfire bombs. Having it inevitably happen every round would make it lose any charm it could possibly have (it doesn't have much to begin with).
As it is I'm not sure chemistry should be given even more crutches; they already made a big list of shit to do in chem on the forum, and there's that place out in space that serves basically this purpose anyway.
Also the flash idea doesn't work: If you made that chem and got flashed, you'd know it worked the way you intended, thus enabling you to replicate it in the real world. That's not a proper deterrent.
