I dreamed about an alternate wizard spawn
#6
Ok, here's my idea, trying to knit together the best ideas I've seen (and suggested v) into one, cohesive suggestion:

Stick the Wizard Shuttle on a new Z-level, maybe somewhere out in the Centcom area. Have it docked inside a giant dungeon, which is filled with monsters and loot. Give the dungeon two wings, Wing A with monsters which are non-aggressive to Wizards, and Wing B with yetis and martians and dragons that will attack and kill anyone and everyone. Have the hub between the two areas contain the entrance to the wizard shuttle, (With shutters, so the wizard can prevent some jackass from camping his bed) some device to allow people to return to the station, and a unique trader named "Tucker the Kobold" who sells a few mundane medieval items, as well as super-expensive "Magic Swords" and "Enchanted Shields". (Magic Swords are reskinned C-Sabers which can't be turned off and have reduced stun percentages, Enchanted Shields reflect projectiles when held in your hand.)

When a Wizard attacks the station, and corrupts it, areas that have been corrupted have a chance to spawn portals into the dungeon, which will spit out a couple mobs from Wing A. If a crewmember managed to make it to an open portal (They only stay open while spitting out mobs, which takes about 15 seconds), they can jump through and get randomly dropped into areas of Wing A. If they survive long enough to make it to the hub, they can buy gear, return to the station, challenge the wizard, or take on the tougher wing of the dungeon. The end of Wing B contains a Treasure Chest (Reskinned Crate) filled with gold bars, golden plate armor, and a golden crown.

There should also probably be some (long and difficult) method of reaching the dungeon, maybe make it a teleport destination on the void teleporter, or give it a hidden entrance deep within the ice or lava planet. That way, if someone really wants to try for that crown, they can give it a shot even on a non-wizard round. Or if the wizard doesn't want to use corruption, or the adventurer just wants to try for the sure thing, they can have an alternate path there.
