Directional door sounds

The new sounds are pretty great, makes the station feel alive. But there is one thing I just can't stand.
Loud noises directly into one ear. So walking through a door from either left or right is kind of unbearable.
So I'm suggesting that sounds in a 3x3 radius around you shouldn't be directional. That way I can open doors without getting that unpleasantry.
