I generally don't love using my flash. I have seriously shitty luck with the guy I'm after either having sunglasses unexpectedly or the damn thing burns out immediately when I need it more than once. On the other hand, I agree that it's probably better to use than the baton for low-priority arrests, so I'll start using it more. See, this thread IS improving people.
I keep my taser on my belt because, really, when you need that thing, you NEED it, immediately. I keep a flash and cuffs in my pockets to speed up arrests. The baton stays in the backpack as a backup weapon for when my taser goes dry and/or I've caught something like a changeling and I need a bludgeoning tool to keep it down while I drag it to a gibber.
Oh, and the portabrig deserves more love. The shitty way it works kind of chases away some people who don't get it, but if it just TOLD you in its description or something to lock it with your ID, or if it worked like 90% of the things on the station that can scan your ID while it's on your chest so you can just click it, I think it would see more use.
