not sure if the game can save custom emotes but you can probably keep a string of text in your clipboard to paste when you click custom emote

if you're confused on emote keybindings, you can rebind the WASD emote keybinds to different buttons in controls. I don't think you can add emotes that aren't already in the keybind list (ctrl+f fart, ctrl+a salute, ctrl+s scream ETC.)
I support a keybind overhaul that allows you to add different emotes and stuff though. keybind profiles would be great too, if you could save it like character sav files and load them. the current system is clunky and if you lose your data you have to bind everything all over again
