Blobs are easy to fight against, someone yells over radio where it's located 6 minutes into the round and you all burn it to death with flamethrowers or show up late to the party and the credits roll before you're even done making your flamethrower.
I can't tell if you're saying they're not fun to play against because they're too hard, or too easy, in your experience. I think it's a lot harder to play and win as blob than it is to play and win against them as crew though.
There's not a lot of spaces on a map that are secretive and get low player traffic, it takes one person stumbling across the blob or hearing its sound effects nearby to alert the entire 30 or so player lobby, if the blob doesn't have good enough defenses up already then they're doomed, cause unlike a changeling or other human-shaped antagonist blobs can't move.
The only blob wins I've seen were on atlas because it's full of tight spaces and people are funneled into small rooms without many access points which lets the blob kill them with turrets. I guess they don't have to rely on secrecy back when it was on atlas, but I don't see many big maps with the same map balance that allowed blobs to thrive like that, you need a really cramped area for it to work out in favor of the blob.
