Lore direction?
#2
my favourite thing to do ever in this game is improvise.

when you have a textrp that has a big lore document that you can fully read through, this allows for more nuanced jokes that reference the lore, which is great! it rewards people for looking at it and becomes an inside joke of sorts. i really enjoy it.

when you have something like this, though, the fun to me is making shit up and seeing how everyone deals with it. when paperwork has been broken for a month and the HoP hands me a document to get my ID upgraded, saying to them "Don't you remember Research and that Paperwork killing artifact? It's been unusable for ages now." is a funny in-lore joke and one that people can add on to. you're basically CREATING inside jokes on demand, which is awesome

"Damn Cap, this is worse than the time Nanotrasen destroyed Asia in a meteor shower." is a hilarious thing to say depending on the context, and one that i truly believe nobody would have an issue with you saying. characters that are a little geograpically blind could ask "Asia? That the country with all the sushi?" whilst a character from asia could either remember it or break down as they had somehow never been told it happened. the joke builds with the people, often to absolutely amazing lengths. i had a joke with a hall monitor once that they needed to get their grades up to keep their role (they were particularly oversteppign their boundaries in character) and it led to him being fired, and then me recieving a massive piece of paper with tons of questions and answers. it was amazing, and the best part was how neither of us needed a lore document to read from to do it. we built upon a joke and had so much fun with it.

what i'm trying to say is that i think the sky is the limit and that is the best part about it. nobody is gonna correct you unless it's something super simple like Nanotrasen, people with engage with the joke in all sorts of amazing ways and it means you can litereally do whatever you want. the easiest way to get a slow round running is referencing some bullshit lore and seeing how people react to it.

the only reason i'd like to see more lore is just how interesting it is. all of the planets and stuff are super cool to look at in game, and then learnign about them is awesome. i wanna know what plasma is, why it works, what the secrets of the inner core of the brown giant are. more lore would be great, but don't be afraid to just spout out some gobbledegook because it would make a joke funnier
