Making this reply for people out there looking for info and are experiencing the same issue I had.
Due to Goonstation now being on 516 of BYOND, if you follow the guide above exactly as it says, you may notice or experienced certain issues with the TGUI, such certain elements being white instead of green or screen of certain machinery, such as the gene scanner in genetics, working fine, but are missing components and color making it more difficult to use.
My Method of Fixing this Issue:
To fix this, you have to update Webview to the latest version, which requires you to skip step four of the guide. This is because setting the default setting to Windows 7 forces the Bootstrapper to download the last version of Webview for Windows 7/8, which is version 109.
Afterward, you have to reset the default setting back to Windows 7 in order for BYOND to work properly. Leaving it at Windows 10/11 will cause everything to be a white screen. This issue appears similar to other players getting a white screen when they were updating BYOND after the 516 migration or installing Webview for the first time. However, from my experience, none of the recommended fixes seems to work.
Some Remarks:
After doing some shifts, there are some things that aren't fixed by updating Webview, like the color picker for the dye machine having its hex code entry clip into other UI elements. Ultimately, this fix made the game more enjoyable for me since I don't have to worry about broken UI stuff. Do note, I have not tested this on other codebases like tg, so I have no clue if there is an issue on those other places.
Hopefully this helps anyone who comes across this post.
