Human Bodies Cant go in the Enzymatic Reclaimer
#5
Personally I'd prefer if things stayed as they were now, or if there was just a small change to how much biomass a body gives. I feel like the change as proposed now might just encourage cheesing(like the blood method) to refill biomass which doesn't really improve gameplay and will lead to a buildup of corpses in the morgue or stinky cloning bays because the jobs that would take the bodies are not around or wanting to. Some people might say that a more full morgue makes for more interesting gameplay, but I would prefer that the space in the morgue is saved for medical cadavers, unrevivable players, or victims of crimes which still need to be forensically investigated given that it usually has limited space and even less space for additional morgue slabs to be added

Making it so a body isn't enough biomass to clone someone(think 60-80% of the biomass instead) unless you put in extra work to get all their organs and limbs and stuff separated could be a better idea which allows the reclaimer to still be used to clean up bodies without acting as a practically infinite biomass source and encourages medical doctors to teach trainees about surgery.

I don't like the idea of interesting stuff being "QoL"-ed out of the game, but I also think that just making stuff more difficult for what seems like the sake of making things more difficult right after a big cloning rework already designed to make stuff more difficult is... I dunno, unnecessary for right now. I want to say that a lot of interdepartmental things are initially good-faith ideas, and I think this change also has good reasoning behind it, but I have also failed to regularly see the level of cooperation necessary to make this change work in an average round, especially on highpop RP. You will have rounds where you order embalming fluid from Science and have it unfulfilled 15-20 minutes after asking for it until you go over and discover that John McChemist has been SSD staring into the ChemMaster this whole time, you will have rounds where nobody in Botany processes your requests for synthmeat until a mass casualty event and be left hanging, you will have rounds where stuff just goes wrong, in general. And that's part of the game! But it's also a major issue when you hinge one department's success or ability to function so strongly on another's. I feel like Medical Doctor is already one of the most stressful jobs for me, and the ones with some of the least actual free time considering how many people get hurt at basically any time, and I don't think that this change will help with this issue for me.

It seems like most of the other respondents are on board with this idea, but I just wanted to share my take too. Sometimes more interdepartmental gameplay doesn't actually lead to more.. interesting gameplay, and can just lead to frustrating moments when the people you depend on to keep things moving fall through. Just something to think on, in my opinion.  space bear
