Might be a pain to code but If a cactus plant increases too much in potency/soaks up too much water it explodes before you can harvest it, kinda like the slurry pods but instead of poisoning plant trays nearby spikes like the hallucegenia from oshan burst out doing brute/bleed with damage and range increase based on potency and endurance
This way you have to manage and control your cactus plants if you want them to grow big and powerful with the safer bet being infusing seeds directly.
I feel the chance for cactus mutations could be fun too, like Balloon cactus (for exploding) style or tree styled cactus (for sticking things to)
I would love it if we could pick up the tree style cactus put it in a plant pot then stick hand held objects to it making it like a portable rack.
Since we already have a plant that allows us to sting people and inject chems I don't think it needs to takeaway from the nettles niche/lane.
We don't have many plants that offer ranged effects and I don't think it would be overpowered if a balloon cactus was to burst shoot spikes then die especially since its not something a player can directly control or time.
