There's not much I can add to this that hasn't already been said. I have seen Red teach both new and old/returning players a lot. Two examples to highlight his strengths are as follows, but I'll try to keep it brief;
Teaching a new player: One round that sticks out to me is a round on lowpop before it had hit peak for the day. There were only about four of us in total at round start. I was an arcfiend, and Red was security. A new player had spoke up on the radio to ask if they could follow one of us around. I didn't want to force them into helping me antag, however, Red expressed being open to letting them try out security training. Red set aside the 'morals' of the game, so to speak, so that I could steal the spare and upgrade this new player's ID to become a security assistant. Red took the majority of the round to explain both game and security concepts to them, and allowed them to help with every aspect of dealing with my antagging. This was an incredible hands-on method of mentoring via roleplay. I look back on it fondly, and I still see that new player come around every now and then. Great stuff to see.
Teaching older players: I'm fairly certain he's done this several times, because I do remember him teaching me in this exact way and I know for sure I've seen him teach others too. Red will routinely take traitor rounds to mindhack people that may or may not have antagging experience, and he will take time out of his own stories to teach his mindhacks how to do certain things. I recall he taught me how to make pipe bombs and how to active them using remote signalers! It's an incredible skill to be able to set aside the goals of your own antag round in order to include other people who are less experienced with that. I've never seen him turn down an opportunity to teach his mindhacks how to fit in with his plans.
