I loved station-wide objectives some servers have. We should add those.
Engineering is to construct a MacGuffin. It needs components from science, sec guards the thing, miners are actively dying harvesting resources for it while medical is patching them up. Command commands and whacks a champagne bottle on the damn thing in the end. It gave a real sense of community and, well, teamwork.
Current goonstation rounds are a lot more segmented and open-ended, which I feel incentivizes less "tense murder mystery in space" and more "blorbo commune chatroom" style of play. Which I don't think is necessarily bad, but having something like this as an occasional gamemode could be extremely refreshing. Then again, "when I PR it" I guess.
