If you went down that route: I'd say make sure the detomatix still costs a charge when it picks up a syndicate target. Just for the basic premise that knowing exactly who another traitor is should have direct cost/benefit fee. You could argue buying the detomatix is that fee, but honestly without it I feel like this is a bit of a stealth "new syndicate item" wearing a detomatix skinsuit and could probably just be separated entirely from it with its own costs.
