Oh, right. That's why they have a lock. I genuinely did not make the connection out of a positive view of stationkind.

Yeah better go with a toggle lock or as Earthfire says, going down giving them destructible mechanics like other mechanisms. They're not a one-print manufacturing job either so it's not like someone stealing your screwdriver. A toggle lock matches our general pattern with other mechanisms too and that seems to work well enough for allowing potential shenanigans. If you wanted some kind of middle ground, you could make them work like personal lockers, but then you've got this device only you can actually use and I'm sure someone would find something horrible to do with that, so you could instead do it to access levels but then that's a load of bloat to add to a little change.

I don't know man I just think interdictors are kinda neat. I'd like to see people fiddling with them more, or at the very least seeing a spatial tear get what's coming to it.
