I've played with star since they started in security as a secass and they've improved significantly, but I think they're still not ready for the beret. I've played a couple of rounds with them during the review period and I think they still need to improve a lot.
As an example earlier today: We had arrested a changeling who was poisoning people, they kept stinging people and attempting to break out, they did this for for a total of around 5 times until we had enough of it. On their last attempt to escape I -- along with the rest of security -- Opened fire with lethal intent. Star was the captain and she told us to stop and tried getting in the way, I understand this is because it was only about 30 minutes into the round but the changeling would not cooperate, they ended up getting borged but left me distrustful of Star's judgement: being far too forgiving for someone who kept poisoning officers and attempting to break out.
And interacting with them on the discord and on LOOC they seem more worried about being a good fit for the application than anything and being easily discouraged by criticism. I get where they're coming from but it comes off as desperate and not something I like seeing on a HoS.
They've certainly got the attitude and the motivation but I don't think they're ready just yet.
Don't take the criticism as a bad thing but rather learn from it and use it to be the best officer you can be. Don't try so hard to be a good fit for the HoS application and don't worry so much about it, instead just try to be a good officer.
I wish them the best of luck and hope they keep improving but for now this is a -1 from me.
