Automatic word filters
#7
(5 hours ago)Lefinch Wrote: Edit: also yes, the Scunthorpe problem Kotlol mention above is still very much a thing even modern attempts to filter language produce. This does not include certain PLACES that proactively like to filter what their CITIZENS OF NO PARTICULAR COUNTRY say on their COUNTRY-FIREWALLED internet, and it just doesn't work because it turns out people use euphemisms. Very clever ones sometimes.

This is a cool social phenomenon, but it's not going to be good for this.

It's how SLURS came to be to begin with. We invented slurs cause we weren't allowed to say "THIS WORD" so we changed it to "THAT WORD"

It's how we got a "bundle of sticks" for example. (I am not saying the actual word)

As for the clown disbelief...YES Cause it's FUNNY.
Infact Bovine Folk can't say COW.. they filter it to HUMAN and we accept it.

So I see no problem with this trait. It fits Goonstation to a T.
