I get where you're coming from, but (engineering) silicons will always need cooperation with carbons to get complex tasks done.
Engineering cyborgs are already material-mules with a wide array a tools that can't be stolen. You can place and shape metal and glass with robotic efficiency, but still need some sausage-fingers to insert a piece of RAM.
