The item should be a headband of some sort, so the assistant that slipped you on a banana peel and beat you senseless with a fire extinguisher could continue the legacy.
(as completely nonviolently as possible, the power wouldn't go to their heads, right?)

to keep every assistant into becoming the Karate Kid by slipping up a guy it, should give whoever uses it that didn't originally buy it a high chance of breaking their bones whenever they hit something/someone
