Yeah the katana can LITERALLY disarm someone so they cannot fight back with just two or three button presses. The katana is pretty strong if you get a first hit in just like csaber. Just have to know the hotkeys for limb targetting and be fast in pressing them.
Downside is you can't really hide the katana like the csaber.
