Idea's very creative, sounds like a lot of fun both to fight and play as. I'm all for expensive but imperfect antag gear that doesn't require much prep.
First thing I think of though is how it would work in practise upon arrest by sec, though. Say if an officer just decides to remove the users space helm, almost instantly killing you, possibly by accident (then again, using those extra credits for a few microbombs...)
The instruction manual should definitely include some clear instructions on how to manage your protective outfit, like how to swap spacesuits without removing them and what clothing wualifies.
